Abraham Matias is a Mexican award-winning illustrator, author, and picture book maker.

Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, he moved to Chicago where studied at the Art Institute and graduated with a degree in design from Harper College. He works with hand-made paper cut puppets, sets, and collage. In 2026, he received the Pura Belpré Youth Illustrator Award for his illustrations in Popo the Xolo.

Abraham lives and works in Los Angeles.
